Laptop USB Ports Not Working


 

Possible Causes:

  • Faulty drivers.
  • Physical damage to USB ports.

Solutions:

  1. Test Different Devices:

    • Connect other USB devices to confirm whether the issue is with the port or the device.
  2. Restart and Reset USB Ports:

    • Shut down the laptop, unplug all USB devices, and hold the Power button for 30 seconds. Then, restart the laptop.
  3. Reinstall USB Drivers:

    • Open Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers, and uninstall all USB drivers. Restart the system to reinstall them automatically.
  4. Check for Power Settings on USB Ports:

    • Go to Device Manager, right-click the USB hub, select Properties > Power Management, and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  5. Replace the USB Port Module:

    • If the ports are physically damaged, professional replacement is required.
